Tech Spec Sheet for Sound Libraries

When researching Sound Library websites such as A Sound Effect.com You will come across technical specification sheets that you can download for free which contains the contents of the Sound Library. In these tech spec sheets it will typically be a word document with a table that is split up into Rec ID (track numbers), Filename, Description and Duration. This is a really simple thing to do to provide more specific information to the consumer. Such as with the description, having a description for each track what the sound of the piece will be helps people find what they are looking for in a more timely manner. It makes you and your Sound Library look more organised and professional, making everything as professional and organised as you can helps with returning customers and keeping a reputable and consistent portfolio of work.

For the sound library project in unit 2, I drew up a quick tech spec sheet that I can use in the project. This Tech Spec sheet was inspired by a sound library called “Town Winds” which had a simple but effective tech spec sheet. I have left a link to it here as I could not export it into WordPress.

I tried to keep it as simple as I could for the draft, but something that I could use when starting out to get familiar with using this layout. Overtime I’m sure minor changes will happen, but I think it’s a good starting point. It is definitely something that will be a really good thing to get familiar with, as it makes organisation easier, and makes you a more prepared composer and collaborator.
